You’ve seen it in Carm / Dewick / Tisch / East / the Campus Center / probably not Brown and Brew because we keep finding issues from three years ago. Now experience it in party format.

Yes.

The new Canon is here. (look for it Monday morning)

Come to Arts Haus (37 Sawyer Ave) on Friday Feb. 5 for this issue's release party, where some of the published writers will read their pieces before opening the mic up to you, the partygoers.

[ IMPORTANT: This time we'll only be allowing PREPARED work to be performed. Nothing against some of the free-form storytelling that's taken place in the past, but in this case we only have time for people who have something pre-written that they want to read. ]

And eventually we’ll probably just all drink and chat about new Star Wars or something.

ALSO:
We're introducing some new protocols to make sure everyone feels safe but for now all you need to know is that

1) you'll have a limit of two five-minute readings

2) General fuckery (especially racist, sexist, body shaming, transphobic, homophobic, ableist, xenophobic behavior) gets you asked to leave. As long as you take a second to think about what you're doing/saying and are responsible to the people around you you should be a-okay.

3) if you catch any of the above and for whatever reason we don't, there'll be number visibly posted behind the mic for you to get in touch with and we'll step in and figure things out.

Ok, that's it.

Also we’re changing the name to Cannon.
