Hi friends! Thanksgiving is almost here, and we all know what that means: FOOTBALL and SHOPPING! But after you score the best gifts for everyone on your list this Black Friday, why not support Camp Kesem MIT on Giving Tuesday, December 1st, and help give the gift of camp this holiday season to some very special kids who need it.
As an incentive for you to donate, we have 7 teams who are willing to complete challenges as we reach certain milestones in our fundraising throughout the day (ie. cinnamon challenge or polar plunge in the Charles River). Stay tuned for specific challenges!
Here at Kesem, we serve the needs of a largely overlooked population, the children of those affected by cancer. In the US there are over 3 million children of cancer patients, and whether their parent is in remission, undergoing chemotherapy, or has passed, these kids are forced to grow up and take on responsibilities in the blink of an eye. For many of the kids we serve at Camp Kesem, cancer has made their holiday season a difficult time. At Kesem our goal is to provide a week of carefree and uncomplicated fun for these children.
This year we are expecting our biggest attendance yet, with 2 full camp weeks at 170 kids from ages 6 to 18!!! In order to reach this goal we have to raise $120,000 by next summer. This Giving Tuesday, December 1st, help us bring joy this holiday season and send as many kids as we can to camp on one of our biggest fundraising days of the year!
Any donation amount will make a huge difference, and since ALL PROCESSING FEES ARE WAIVED on Giving Tuesday, every dollar pledged will go directly to the planning and expenses for our 2016 camp. Happy #GivingTuesday and thank you all!
