Why Feminism? Why Now?: The Importance of Being a Feminist Today – And Why It’s So Hard to Do So

Feminism is often defined as simply “the advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men,” but it’s so much more complicated than that. Let’s talk about what feminism really is (and isn’t) and what makes being a feminist today so hard.

Melissa A. Fabello is a sexuality and media literacy educator and body acceptance and eating disorder activist based in Philadelphia. She currently works as Managing Editor of Everyday Feminism and is a doctoral candidate in Human Sexuality Studies at Widener University.

With special musical guest Magen Tracy.
