Hey, Poets and Poetry Lovers!
Hold onto your metaphorical hats, because this Tuesday, we will be kicking off the spring semester with a very special Open Mic and Feature! We're starting off with a bang, you won't want to miss this!
Tuesday, February 9th @ 7:30pm
The Loft, 921 Boylston Street
Boston, MA 02115
We're kicking this semester off with a good old-fashioned poetry open mic. Read an original poem, cover poem, rap, etc, or just come to listen to amazing poems by amazing poets. Newcomers and first-time poets are so incredibly welcome to go up to the mic and embrace the opportunity to un-silence oneself!
**OPEN MIC SIGN UP BEGINS AT 7:15, MAKE SURE YOU ARRIVE EARLY TO ASSURE A SPOT ON THE MIC**
After the open mic, we will have a very special feature from poet extraordinaire: EMILY O'NEILL! This will be an event you do not want to miss!
ABOUT THE FEATURE:
Emily O’Neill was born on the bedroom floor in her mother’s childhood home and has been making loud messes ever since. Her first collection, Pelican, won YesYes Books' inaugural Pamet River Prize and her recent work has been featured in Cutbank, The Journal, Minnesota Review, Redivider, and Washington Square, among many others. She is the summer season slam champion at the Cantab Lounge and has a degree in the synaesthesia of storytelling from Hampshire College. When not selling sushi and sake bombs at a rock n roll izakaya in the Fenway, she teaches writing at the Boston Center for Adult Education.
Hope To See You All There!
