Anthropology brings a global comparative and very broad perspective to the study of human beings, exploring an enormous range of similarities and differences in time and space. The field is linked through its subdisciplines (i.e. Archaeology, Social Anthropology, Linguistic, Medical, Sensory Ethnography and Applied Anthropology) to many other fields in the social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences.
At Harvard, the Anthropology Department is divided into two programs, each concerned with one of the main branches of Anthropology: Archaeology and Social Anthropology.
