Boston University Medical Brigades is a student-run organization that fundraises to provide medical care and supplies to Hondurans in rural communities.
Global Medical Brigades is a secular, international student-operated volunteer organization whose mission is to provide sustained health care to underserved communities throughout the world. Global Medical Brigades is a part of the larger organization known as Global Brigades, which is the world's largest student-led international relief program.
Along with affiliate groups at other distinguished universities, our BU team recruits student volunteers and medical professionals, gathers medicine and other supplies, and then travels overseas to perform these medical brigades. Our current emphasis is to help the impoverished villages of Honduras in collaboration with one of their country's most highly regarded nonprofits, Sociedad Amigos de los Ninos, led by Sister Maria Rosa Leggol, a recent nominee of the Nobel Peace Prize.
