With over 1,000 undergraduates serving the Medford and Somerville communities year-round since 1958, the Leonard Carmichael Society (LCS) is the largest, student-run organization at Tufts.
For 54 years, the Leonard Carmichael Society has been working closely with citizens of Medford, Somerville and Boston through hands on volunteering and fundraising projects in an effort to give back to Tufts' host communities. As the umbrella organization for community service and the largest student-run organization on campus, LCS engages thousands of undergraduate students every year in meaningful community service projects across a wide range of interests.
