Student-managed galleries offer students an opportunity to share their work with the MassArt community and the public. The novice as well as the experienced exhibitor will gain valuable experience from exhibiting in the student galleries. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to gain exposure and skills necessary for your professional life. Student exhibitors must complete a student galleries proposal form in order to be eligible for exhibiting.
The three student gallery spaces are the Student Life Gallery, the North Crackatorium, and the Bookstore.
Student Life Gallery
Located on the 2nd floor of the Kennedy building, this space is available to groups of four or more enrolled undergraduate students. The space features moveable walls, overhead lighting, and pedestals. This space can accommodate large-scale 2D or 3D work.
North Crackatorium
Located on the 1st floor of the North building, this space is available to groups or solo shows of enrolled undergraduate students. The space features overhead lighting, pedestals, and movable partitions, and its central location makes it quite accessible and versatile. This space can accommodate large-scale 2D or 3D work, hanging pieces, and installations. This space is ideal for installations.
Bookstore
Located on the basement of the Kennedy building, this space is available to small groups or solo shows of enrolled undergraduate students. This space can accommodate small and mid-scale 2D work. This space is not well suited for 3D work or installations, and hanging anything from the ceiling is not allowed.
